John William Hitt, Jr., 95, of Weston, WV, died on March 28, 2026, at the White Sulphur Springs Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and tugboat mechanic who loved the outdoors.

Joy Janice Bennett, 91, of Buckhannon, died March 28, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was a member of the Heaston United Methodist Church and is survived by her children and extended family.

Monica Dawn Winemiller, 67, of Buckhannon, died March 26, 2026, at Summersville Healthcare Center in Summersville. She was a retired legal secretary and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Denise Lynn Karlen, 70, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, passed away on March 18, 2026. She was a Buckhannon-Upshur High School graduate, worked in insurance, and was active in the Tennerton Lions Club and Buckhannon Choral Society.

Linda W. Winspear of Buckhannon, WV, passed away on March 8, 2026, at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was a registrar at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Willard J. Scott, 89, of Buckhannon, died March 19, 2026, at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew. He was a retired coal miner who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Donna Jean Marteney, 79, of Buckhannon, died March 18, 2026, at her home. She was active in Sand Run Baptist Church, TOPS, and the Buckhannon Women’s Club, and loved family time, reading, and church activities.

N. Carolyn Stotts, 100, of Webster Groves, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2026. She was a devoted teacher and helped establish Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

Dr. Judith Noble Halle of Buckhannon and Rock Cave, WV, passed away on March 8, 2026, due to a sudden, severe cardiac condition. She was a medical educator and researcher, devoted to mothers and infants and to training health professionals.

Kathy Lou McCartney, 58, of French Creek, WV, died on March 9, 2026, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She served in the U.S. Army and was a devoted homemaker and mother of three.

Everett Raymond Davis, 85, of French Creek, WV, died on March 5, 2026, at the home of a dear friend in Lusby, MD. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a Metropolitan Police officer and U.S. Marshal.
