Larry Edward Spittler

Larry Edward Spittler, 79, of Pickens, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026.

He was born in Richwood on January 13, 1947, a son of the late Oral Oran and Beatrice Bernice Tiffner Spittler. Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by three brothers: Rodrick Wayne Spittler, Otis Paul “Buddy” Spittler, and Dennis Keith Spittler.

Forever cherishing their memories of Larry are four siblings: Kenneth Oran Spittler of Kevil, KY; John Daniel “Danny” Spittler and wife, Sharon, of Miller, MD; Nancy Mae McGinn and husband, Robert, of Salem, WV; and Goldie Ann Barnes of Valley Bend, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a man adept at turning his hand to any task. He spent his professional life painting in the construction industry, mining, and taking on odd jobs, always leaving a trace of his dedication and perseverance. Throughout his life, Larry’s deep-rooted Christian faith guided him. Larry had a love for antique cars that was only surpassed by his love for the great outdoors. His appreciation for nature and all its beauty was infectious, and he had an uncanny ability to find joy in the simplest of things.

Larry’s request for cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will take place at a later time.
