Wesleyan to host MEC Volleyball Tournament as top seed; opens with GSU Thursday evening

West Virginia Wesleyan, the South Division champion and top overall seed, will host the eight-team 2025 Mountain East Conference Volleyball Championship Nov. 20–22 at the Rockefeller Center, opening Thursday vs. Glenville State.

BRIDGEPORT — Following the conclusion of the regular season Friday night, the 2025 Mountain East Conference Volleyball Championship field is set.

MEC South Division champion West Virginia Wesleyan will host the event, which will be held from Thursday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Rockefeller Center. The MEC announced the eight-team field, including matchups, seeds, and start times, on Friday night.

West Liberty joins host West Virginia Wesleyan as a No. 1 seed after winning the MEC North Division. WVWC earned hosting rights by having the best winning percentage in league play, following a tiebreaker, and West Liberty earned the North’s No. 1 seed after a three-way tiebreaker atop the standings.

West Virginia Wesleyan wrapped up the title Friday night after sweeping Davis & Elkins. The Bobcats finished 19-8 overall and 11-4 in conference play, finishing the season with six consecutive victories. UC is the No. 2 seed in the South, followed by defending champion West Virginia State and Concord.

In the north, West Liberty is the top seed, followed by Fairmont State, Wheeling, and Glenville State. The Pioneers replaced Frostburg State as the last North Division representative based on regular season winning percentage.
