My Buckhannon is Your Buckhannon
My Buckhannon is an online community news and ecommerce hub based in the heart of West Virginia. Our small but passionate team of cyber mountaineers seeks to bring you the same quaint, small-town charm famous throughout Appalachia, only through your phone or computer.

Brian Bergstrom
Fearless Leader
Buckhannon born and raised, Brian earned a degree in computer science from Yale University before returning to his hometown to serve as the editor of The Record Delta for 15 years. My Buckhannon is the intoxicating fusion of his love of technology, journalism and this wonderful community in the heart of West Virginia. Brian is an avid tea drinker.

Katie Kuba
Editor Extraordinaire
Katie may have been born in a suburb of Philadelphia, but she moved to Buckhannon when she was just four years old, so Upshur County has always felt like home to her. She’s got a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s in American Studies, and she loves cats. Katie has watched – and once owned on VHS – every single episode of the “I Love Lucy” show.

Monica Zalaznik
Rad Reporter
Upshur County native Monica Zalaznik is the newest member of the My Buckhannon team. She graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and a minor in history. In her spare time, she enjoys reading (a few favorite authors: Brandon Sanderson, Kevin Hearne and Anthony Ryan) and playing video games – especially “The Legend of Zelda.”

Beth Broschart
News Correspondent
Growing up in Randolph County, Beth started her reporting career the old-fashioned way: tapping out articles on a 1931 Underwood manual typewriter. She studied journalism at WVU and worked as a staff writer and correspondent for The Inter-Mountain and The Parsons Advocate. Beth enjoys the Buckhannon area and is excited to share people’s stories. Her favorite color is purple.

Sarah Goodrich
News Correspondent
Sarah is a Marion County native who’s worked for two Mountain State newspapers: the Times West Virginian, and most recently, The Inter-Mountain. In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with her pups, Lucy and Alfi. She loves The Wonder Years – so much so that if someone mentions a song from the show, she can immediately name the episode.

Tammy Lyons
Digital Marketing Specialist
Tammy brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as a marketing specialist. She’s done it all, from being an ad rep to running an entire newspaper organization as the publisher. She’s lived in North Central West Virginia her whole life and is excited to be back out in the community, helping local businesses succeed. She and her husband, Sean, live in Tennerton with their extended animal family.

Brandi Losh Gillespie
Digital Marketing Specialist
Brandi is an advertising extraordinaire, having previously worked for several area newspapers and other local media companies. She’s also an entrepreneur — Brandi owns Transformation Salon in Weston — and an artist. She draws inspiration from her farm for many of her paintings of animals, which can be found at the Main Street Gallery in Buckhannon. Brandi is about the friendliest person you’ll ever meet, so say hi!
