Grant County Bank welcomes Charles “Kirk” Wilson to Board of Directors

Grant County Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles “Kirk” Wilson to its Board of Directors. Wilson brings a wealth of experience in engineering, construction, and business management to the board, enhancing the bank’s strategic capabilities and community connections.

Wilson, a retired Navy Commander and current President of L&W Enterprises, Inc., has deep roots in West Virginia and a distinguished career spanning military service, public works, and private sector leadership. His diverse background includes roles such as Military Advisor to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment in the Pentagon, Public Works Officer/Officer in Charge of Construction at Naval Air Station Lemoore, and leadership positions at various Naval Facilities working on engineering and construction projects worldwide.

“Kirk’s wide-ranging experience, stellar reputation, and history of community involvement made him a standout candidate for our board,” said George Ford, President & CEO of Grant County Bank. “His unique perspective will provide valuable insight and guidance on a variety of strategic opportunities.”

Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University and a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Penn State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and brings over 40 years of experience in design and construction, project management and contracting, budgeting, and community development. Additionally, as President of L&W Enterprises, Inc. since 2005, Wilson has led surveying, engineering, construction management, and contracting of projects throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. His expertise spans various sectors, including gas and oil pads and water impoundments, large and small poultry operations, church, bridge, and real estate development and infrastructure projects.

“I’m honored to join the Board of Directors at Grant County Bank,” said Wilson. “As a long-time resident and business owner in the area, I understand the vital role community banks play in fostering local economic growth. I look forward to contributing my experience to help Grant County Bank continue its legacy of strong financial stewardship and community support.”

Ford added, “Kirk’s background in construction and engineering will be particularly valuable as we evaluate projects for prospective clients and consider our own expansion initiatives. We’re excited about the insights he’ll bring to our strategic planning process.”

Wilson also serves as President of the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, where he has been instrumental in growing local business initiatives and community events. His commitment to the region aligns closely with Grant County Bank’s mission of supporting economic development and community prosperity.

In Kirk’s free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his wife and family.
