Maya Faye Hamner

Maya Faye Hamner, a 17-month-old infant of Buckhannon, WV, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 20, 2026, at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

She was born March 1, 2025, in Morgantown, a daughter of Derreck and Megan Arnold Hamner.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three siblings, Nevaeh, Riley, and Liam Hamner, all of Buckhannon; maternal grandfather, Bill Arnold of Buckhannon; and paternal grandparents, Terry and Donna Hamner of Buckhannon.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cheryl Arnold, and brother, Samuel Lee Hamner.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maya’s doctors and nurses at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital for their loving dedication and care throughout her journey.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sago Baptist Church in Sago, WV. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Wease L. Day officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses and a monument.
