Primary care at five Vandalia Health clinics, including Buckhannon Medical Care

Vandalia Health, the regional health system formerly known as Davis Health System, offers primary care close to home at five locations across central West Virginia: Broaddus Medical Care, Buckhannon Medical Care, the Cowen Clinic, Davis Medical Center, and Webster Memorial Hospital.

The system has cared for the region for more than a century. Its flagship, Davis Medical Center in Elkins, opened in 1903 as Davis Memorial Hospital and remains a not-for-profit dedicated to rural communities. From its community clinics, primary care serves as the entry point to the system’s broader resources.

Through its 2023 integration with Vandalia Health — a network with more than 190 outpatient locations, over 2,000 physicians and advanced practice providers, and more than 2 million patients treated in 2024 — local clinics connect patients to specialists and services that once required travel out of the region. Vandalia has also brought Mobile Medical Units to underserved communities. The Davis facilities adopted the Vandalia Health name in 2025.
