Richard D. “Dick” Booth, age 95, of the Old Elkins Road, Buckhannon, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, at his home. He was born on January 27, 1931, in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Homer Odbert and Lelia Marie Davis Booth. On October 1, 1955, he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Hollen Booth, who preceded him in death on November 5, 2021.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: Paul J. Booth and William Wayne Booth. He is survived by three children: Richard (Steve) Booth and girlfriend Janeen Kyne, Rebecca Sapp, and Ronnie Booth and wife Jamie, all of Buckhannon; and four grandchildren: Austin Curry, Noah Curry, Roger Booth, and Aiden Booth.
Mr. Booth was a 1950 graduate of Philippi High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then went on to a lengthy career as a clerk with Columbia Gas Transmission, where he retired. He was a member of the Grafton VFW Post 3081 and enjoyed antique cars and mowing grass.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Holt Poling officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Cemetery, where the Upshur County Honor Guard will accord military honors.
