BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced Saturday afternoon the 2025 Women’s Lacrosse all-conference teams.

The All-MEC first team, second team, honorable mention, and all-freshman teams were voted on by the league’s head coaches. Regular season champion Frostburg State, which finished 11-6 overall and a perfect 8-0 in conference competition, had a league-best six All-MEC first team selections. Camden DeMaio, Neila Haney, Kerri Hayes, Jessie Bare, Delaney Devers, and Izzy Kelly are were recognized on the first team for the Bobcats.

The University of Charleston had five All-MEC first team selections: Willow Cooper, Sylvi Jenner, Madison Partridge, Hadley Carlson, and Megan Liston.

Dominican University of California, in its first season as an associate member of the MEC, earned four first team nods: Brooke Vafi, Olivia “OJ” Johnson, Elke Moerkeseth, and Natalie Oyler.

In a change from previous years, the MEC will announce the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year on Sunday, May 4, upon the conclusion of the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. MEC tournament play begins Sunday at 1 p.m. when fourth-seeded Wheeling hosts fifth-seeded Davis & Elkins. The winner advances to play at Frostburg State on Thursday, May 1, at 6 p.m. In the other semifinal, third-seeded Dominican will travel from San Rafael, California, to play at second-seeded Charleston on Thursday, May 1 at 3 p.m.

The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m., at the site of the highest remaining seeded team.

Summer Basketball League finished week one Thursday with three Buccaneer Division games, led by TKS Contracting’s 61–50 win over Sam’s Pizza and Wendling’s 75–53 rout of Buffalo Wild Wings. Friday’s Bobcat Division games were postponed and rescheduled for Monday, July 6.

Arthur Fred Blevins, 79, of Fairfax, VA, died on July 2, 2026, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran who enjoyed the outdoors, card games, and time with family.

Jonnie Lamar Miller, 78, of Buckhannon, WV, died on June 28, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center. He is survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
