Loretta Carpenter Osburn Miller, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, July 4, 2026, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility.
She was born March 11, 1935, in Lantz, WV, a daughter of the late Earl and Lora Clark Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Osburn; her second husband, Ray Miller; four brothers, Rev. Clifford, Vernon and Hubert (Butch) Carpenter and infant brother, William Carpenter; three sisters, Jean Osburn, Patty Miller and infant sister, Hazel Carpenter; one sister-in-law, Betty Carpenter; and one great-grandson, Casen Hemphill.
Surviving are six sons, Henry Lee Osburn and wife Jeanette of Ypsilanti, MI, Gary Lynn Osburn and wife Melba and Wilson Earl Osburn and wife Vanessa both of Buckhannon, Mark Allan Osburn and wife Shelley of Taylor, MI, Billy Joe Osburn and wife Brenda of Southgate, MI, and Michael Wayne Osburn and wife Ashley of Brownstown, MI; two daughters, Sandra Osburn and companion Alvin Cooper of Buckhannon and Ruth Ann Stonebraker and companion Jamie Santos of Laurel, MD; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Billy Carpenter and wife Rita of New Cumberland, WV; two sisters, Bonnie Caynor and husband David and Janet Carpenter both of Buckhannon; special friend, Joe Stonebraker of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother-in-law, Neil Miller of Buckhannon; one sister-in-law, Lee Ellen Carpenter of NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior, WV, and a former school cook for the Upshur County Board of Education.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Buckhannon.
