West Virginia Wesleyan’s NCAA run ended Friday with a 4-1 loss to Fairmont State in the Atlantic 1 Regional opener at Oxford Athletic Club. The Falcons seized the doubles point and won three singles matches, while Renata Pozzobon provided Wesleyan’s lone point.

Wesleyan second baseman Grant Shumaker earned All-MEC honorable mention as the league announced its 2026 postseason baseball honors ahead of the conference championship.

Rylen Carlyle captured the long jump title for Buckhannon-Upshur at the Big 10 Conference Track and Field Championships with a winning leap of 16’ 10.5, and also placed sixth in the 100.

Buckhannon-Upshur placed in all five relay events at the Big 10 Conference Championships, led by a fifth-place 4×200 and top individual finishes from Greyson Wyland (4th shot put) and Shayden Rogers (5th long jump).

Buckhannon-Upshur opened the postseason with a dominant 15-3 win over John Marshall, led by Zack Simmons’ four goals and two assists as seven Bucs scored. Now 9-4, the Bucs host Mountain State Saturday at noon after winning the regular-season matchup 15-6.

Wesleyan was shut out of Mountain East Conference postseason honors as the league unveiled its 2026 all-conference teams and award winners ahead of the MEC Softball Championship.

West Virginia Wesleyan’s men’s and women’s tennis teams earned NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 1 bids as No. 5 seeds.
