Paul Ronald Linger

Paul Ronald Linger, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at Nella’s at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Elkins, WV.

He was born August 22, 1931, in Adrian, WV, a son of the late Willie L. Linger and Ruth Gladys Spiker Wilson. On November 11, 1951, he married Geraldine “Jerry” Bennett Linger.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Dustin Peterson; one sister, Iris Cutright; one brother, Dorsey Linger; one nephew, Dorsey Linger, Jr.; two brothers in law, Richard and Carlis Bennett and one sister in law, Shar Sue Bennett Peterson.

He is survived by one daughter, Serena R. Peterson and husband Ken of Buckhannon; three great-grandsons, Alexzander Peterson of Appleton, WI, Tyler “Holly” Peterson of Nelsonville, OH and Robert Peterson of Nelsonville, OH; one granddaughter in law, Nycole Peterson of Nelsonville, OH; a niece, Carolyn Schmidt of Crofton, MD; one sister in law, Nancy Bennett of Merritt Island, FL; one brother in law, Bob Bennett of St. Cloud, FL; friends, Frank and Debbie Ray and Scott Andrew all of Buckhannon and Dave Bookman of Romney, WV and cousins, John Dilley and Bill Birdine and Rosie.

Mr. Linger was a Master Electrician for West Virginia Wesleyan College as well as a jailer at the Upshur County Jail. He served in the US Air Force. He loved rock collecting, hunting, and fishing.

In honoring Mr. Linger’s wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
