On the City of Buckhannon Calendar: August 11-15

From Aug. 11–15, Buckhannon hosts board meetings and a Water Board session, Festival Fridays live-music event Aug. 15, public bids and notices, yard-waste collection changes, and reminders about utilities and community events.

All meetings, unless specified otherwise, are open to the public and will take place in the Council Chambers at Buckhannon City Hall, located at 70 E Main St, Buckhannon, WV 26201.

Yard Waste Collection Updates – Yard waste will be collected from Buckhannon residents on August 22, 2025. Starting September 1, collections will be every Friday through November 30. Residents must contact City Hall to be added to the collection list. You can also drop off bagged yard waste at the Transfer Station for free, up to two truckloads per year.

Reminders – To help keep our town and streets attractive, please:

  • Lawn care needs to be performed weekly
  • Keep grass clippings out of the street as they can block stormwater drains and cause flooding.  When mowing, always blow the grass away from the street.
  •  Trash cans should be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before collection, and return them within 24 hours after collection.
