Water Department Service Interruption Alert ⋅ 5:00am
The Buckhannon Water Department will initiate a water service interruption at approximately 5:00 A.M., for water main maintenance on Monday, August 8, 2022.  The areas affected are parts of Route 20 South, Tennerton area including the BU Middle School to the Stony Run Road Intersection. The Stony Run area may experience low pressure. Rain date for this outage is Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 5:00 A.M.  The Water Department will work to have everything back to normal as soon as possible

Stockert Youth & Community Town Hall Meeting* ⋅ 6:00pm – 7:30pm
This meeting isbeing held in the Community & Training Room at the Buckhannon Safety Complex, 24 S Florida St, Buckhannon, WV 26201 – Doors will open at 5:30pm. 

*The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on the SYCC Board of Directors’ recommendation to the City Council regarding the new Stockert Youth & Community Center (SYCC) building and to determine how it aligns with community members’ expectations.  The new addition is meant to not only expand the SYCC programming opportunities that are currently provided, but also provide the Buckhannon-Upshur community a facility that will add additional event space to use for holiday and seasonal activities along with indoor exercise opportunities for all ages. The City Council is interested in your opinion so plan to arrive early and join in the Stockert Youth & Community Center Town Hall Meeting.

Bulky goods collection for large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses, appliances, etc. (All Buckhannon Waste Department customers are allowed 4 items per month, and 8 tires per year.)   You must call by Wednesday, August 10, 2022, to schedule a pick-up.  Items must be at the curb by 5:30 a.m. on the scheduled Friday to ensure pick-up.

“Make It Shine” Event ⋅ 7:30am – 4:00pm
This event takes place at the Buckhannon Transfer Station, 444 Mud Lick Rd, Buckhannon, WV 26201.  The maximum amount allowed to dump per customer, is the equivalence of two (2) pickup truck loads (over the course of the two weekends of this event).  You must show proof that you are a valid customer with the Buckhannon Waste Department, with proper ID, and NOT on a service shutoff list.  Items that use Freon (such as air conditioners, Dehumidifiers, and refrigerators must be tagged and certified by a licensed vendor that the Freon has been removed.  No tires will be accepted.
