Monter A. “Mac” Corathers

Monter A. “Mac” Corathers, 77, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born November 8, 1943, in Buckhannon, a son of the late James B. and Wanda Harper Corathers.

On October 12, 1969, he married Loretta Tanner who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jill Kelley and husband Greg of Buckhannon and two grandsons, Dakota McCartney and Logan Kelley, both of Buckhannon.

Mr. Corathers graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1963 and then worked for Moore Business Forms as a Supervisor. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years for the Buckhannon Fire Dept.

“Mac” enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate in his memory to your favorite local charity.
