Richard “Puss” Taylor

Richard “Puss” Taylor, 60, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at his home.

He was born October 8, 1959 in Weston, W.Va., a son of Alice Rastle Taylor of Horner, W.Va. and the late Dayl Taylor.

In addition to his father, he was preceded by one brother, Robert Dayl Taylor W.O. 2 of U.S. Army and one aunt, Evelyn Schmidt.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his significant other, Dreama Church of Buckhannon; three daughters, Lindsey Taylor and wife Jennifer of Clarksburg, W.Va.; Lana Taylor of Weston and Emily Taylor of Buckhannon; Dreama’s children whom he treated like his own, Kaitlyn Turner-Slaughter of the U.S. Army and Kaleb Turner-Slaughter of the U.S. Marine Corp.; two uncles, Franklin Rastle and wife Maxine of Weston and Henry Rastle and wife Sylvia of Alum Bridge, W.Va.; one aunt, Yvonne Foster and husband Maxwell of Tallmansville, W.Va. and his beloved dogs, Gunner, Semper and Piper.

Mr. Taylor was a Christian by faith. He was the owner of Taylor Trucking and Dozer Service and R& R Oil and Gas, L.L.C. Mr. Taylor was also a member of the Fraternal order of Elks Lodge 1736 in Buckhannon.

Friends will be received Monday, August 3, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther Officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Family Cemetery in Buckhannon.
