Wilber “Wib” LeRoy Cutlip

Wilber “Wib” LeRoy Cutlip, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 14, 1930, in Braxton County, a son of the late Samuel Cutlip and Laverna Brown Cutlip. On December 24, 1953, he was united in marriage to Margie Lee Carpenter Cutlip, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Gerald L. Cutlip and wife Nora, and Matthew L. Cutlip and wife Angie all of Cleveland, WV; four daughters: Karen E. Miller and fiancé Mitchell Lyden of Warrens, WI, Nancy L. Cook and husband Steve of Birch River, WV, Vicky F. Blankenship and husband Dale of Buckhannon, WV, and Tracy D. Adkins and husband Brian of Woodbridge, VA; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.

Wib attended the Independent Baptist Church of Cleveland, WV. He enjoyed participating in AARP functions in Webster County, volunteering at the Webster County Senior Center, and especially loved woodworking. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean conflict, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The funeral service will be held at 12 PM, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chris Cosner officiating. Interment will follow in the Ware Cemetery, where the Upshur County Honor Guard will accord military honors.
