Wrestling Bucs finish 1-1 at Parkersburg tri-outing

PARKERSBURG – The Buckhannon-Upshur wrestling Buccaneers went 1-1 in a tri-outing at Parkersburg High School last week.

The Bucs beat George Washington by a 57-18 score but dropped a 45-36 decision to Parkersburg.

The Bucs had four wrestlers go a perfect 2-0.

They were Brodee Kennedy (132 pounds), Nathan Cornett (145 pounds), Oscar Blonn (182 pounds) and Alex Bennett (220 pounds). Kennedy, Cornett and Bennett all had two pinfall wins.

Landon Zirkle (152 pounds) and J. T. Thompson both went 1-0.

The Bucs will be back in action Thursday at the Grafton Duals. They will be paired with Grafton, Hurricane and Fairmont Senior in a loaded division.
