The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Monday that 210 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.
Locally, new cases were reported in Upshur (1), Barbour (1), Lewis (1), Randolph (1) and Webster (1) counties.
A total of 31 cases are currently active in Upshur County, according to the DHHR.
One additional death has been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR – a 97-year old male from Kanawha County.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of March 15, 2021, there have been 2,301,692 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 135,678 total cases and 2,531 total deaths,” according to a press release.
About 5,214 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 127,933 people have recovered and 2,531 have died. The daily percent positive was 5.48%.
A total of245,196 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said.
