Wesleyan athletes lend a hand to Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County in preparation for Annual Fall Book Sale

BUCKHANNON — This week, several athletes from West Virginia Wesleyan College helped the Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County move books into the church hall at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in preparation for the Annual Fall Book Sale.

Jeff Hoffman, the assistant men’s basketball coach at the college, said on social media that the event was a great way for the athletes to show their appreciation for the community of Buckhannon.

Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County is holding its Annual Fall Book Sale on Friday, November 10 from 8 am to 7 pm and Saturday, November 11 from 8 am to noon at the Holy Rosary Church Social Hall located at the end of Franklin Street in downtown Buckhannon.

Mark your calendars; it’s going to be a good one! The Fall Book Sale is their biggest fundraiser, which helps to not only keep the doors open but also serves to help fund their mission to provide free and confidential, one-on-one tutoring to adults 16+ who need help with reading, basic math and computer skills, and other life skills).
