Upshur Sheriff’s Office welcomes deputy Tyler Chidester

BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office would like to welcome Tyler Chidester as its newest full-time Deputy.

Tyler grew up in Kanawha Head, Upshur County and is a 2012 graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School. Tyler is a graduate of the 161st West Virginia Basic Police Training Academy. Tyler began his career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office on September 7, 2014.

He then went to the WV Department of Natural Resources in August 2019 and served as a Natural Resources Police Officer until July 2021. On August 16, 2021, Tyler returned where his career began with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office. Tyler has always been an avid outdoorsman; he enjoys hunting and fishing. Tyler currently lives in Upshur County with his wife and three children.
