The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Upshur County, with snow accumulations of up to five inches possible through Tuesday morning.

“Snow expected,” reads the advisory. “Total snow accumulations averaging 3 to 4 inches with isolated amounts of 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.”

The advisory runs from midnight Monday morning through 1 a.m. Tuesday.

“Travel could be very difficult,” the NWS warns. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute on Monday … The gusty winds and snow may create low visibilities at times. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
