Railroad Avenue closures scheduled for July 9-12 in Buckhannon

BUCKHANNON — Residents and travelers should plan for temporary road closures on both ends of Railroad Avenue, located near West Virginia Wesleyan College, as crews undertake maintenance work on the railroad crossings.

The crossing on both sides of Camden Avenue at the intersection of Railroad Avenue will be closed for maintenance, according to a press release issued Tuesday morning. This closure will take place on two days, July 9 and 10, to facilitate the replacement of the crossing.

Subsequently, the crossing on Railroad Avenue in front of the West Virginia Split Railyard will be closed on Thursday and Friday, July 11 and 12.

The City of Buckhannon urges residents and commuters to choose alternate routes during these times to avoid inconvenience.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding,” city officials said.
