CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Public Service Commission has scheduled a public comment hearing for the Hope Gas acquisition case on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Courthouse, 301 West Main Street, Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Earlier this year, Hope Gas, Inc. dba Dominion Energy West Virginia and Hope Gas Holdings, LLC (HGH) filed a joint petition asking Commission approval for HGH to acquire all of the issued and outstanding capital stock of Hope from Dominion Energy.
“Hearing from the public is an important part of the Commission’s decision-making process,” said PSC Chairman Charlotte Lane. “Public comment hearings give the Commissioners an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the ratepayers. However, if you can’t attend the hearings, you may still submit comments online or by mail. We want to hear from as many people as possible.”
The evidentiary hearing in this case will be held on Tuesday, August 23, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the PSC offices in Charleston.
Hope Gas is the second largest natural gas utility company in the state, serving approximately 111,800 customers in Boone, Braxton, Clay, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Jackson, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion, Monongalia, Nicholas, Pleasants, Ritchie, Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Webster, Wetzel, Wood and Wyoming counties.
