- Yard Waste Collection for City Residents – Yard Waste (debris) will be collected from City of Buckhannon residents. Residents must contact Buckhannon City Hall to be placed on the collection list. City residents may take their bagged yard waste (debris) to the Transfer Station during regular operating hours at no charge, and may bring up to two truckloads per year, also at no charge.
- Farmers Market in Jawbone Park: The Farmers Market will offer fresh produce and popular local items every Friday beginning at 2:30 p.m., in Jawbone Park now through Friday, October 31st.

- September 28, 2025 – Gold Star Mothers’ Rose Garden Dedication & Luncheon at Jawbone Park from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
- October 18, 2025 – Harvest Festival & Chili Cook-off hosted by Moon Flower, 46 East Main Street, Buckhannon, WV. Enjoy crafts, flowers, homemade goods, and thrift items. They will showcase chili made from 10+ local restaurants.
- November 27, 2025 – Upshur County Recreational Complex will hold a 5K, beginning in Jawbone Park at 7:30 a.m.
- December 14, 2025 – Annual Menorah Lighting in Jawbone Park at 7:00 p.m.

Reminders – To help keep our town and streets attractive, please:
- Lawn care needs to be performed weekly
- Keep grass clippings out of the street as they can block stormwater drains and cause flooding. When mowing, always blow the grass away from the street.
- Trash cans should be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before collection, and return them within 24 hours after collection.
Utility Bill Payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.
Report Repairs or Concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, please call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use our Citizen Engagement tool: Report a Concern.
