Mary Madelene Booth

Mary Madelene Booth, 98, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Holbrook Health Care Center in Buckhannon.

She was born November 16, 1923, in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude Moss Osborn. On June 1, 1942, she married Lester Garvin Booth who preceded her in death on December 6, 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Garvin Booth; one daughter in law, Mildred Booth; one daughter; Mary “Jo” Beam; one son in law, Marvin Beam; three brothers, Steve, Guy and Lida Osborn and one sister, Ruth Phillips.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Georgetta Booth of Ellamore, WV and Sheryl Dean and husband Wayne of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Garvin Booth II and wife Teresa of Moundsville, WV and Robert Beam of Grafton, WV; five great granddaughters, Shayna Forshey and fiancé Rick Herron of Ellamore, Traci Forshey of San Antonio, TX, Heather Wilkins and husband Darrel of Buckhannon, Chelsea Lanham and husband Kris of Stonewood, WV and Taylor Booth of Moundsville; five great grandsons, Cody Dean and wife DeAnna of Buckhannon, Garvin Booth, III of Ellamore, Robert “R.J.” Beam, II of New Martinsville, WV, Brandon Beam of Clarksburg, WV and Joey Beam of Buckhannon; two great-great granddaughters, Raegan Faith Dean and Madelyn Lorene Wilkins both of Buckhannon; one sister in law, Vadis Osborn of Warren, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Booth was a housewife and a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Ellamore. She loved quilting, canning, gardening, crocheting, playing cards and traveling to Tennessee.

Friends will be received Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller and the Rev. Mitch Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
