The Colonial Arts Center is excited to announce the debut of Local Music Night, a new monthly concert series that spotlights songwriters, bands and musicians from the Buckhannon area. The event provides a platform for both established and amateur artists to perform original music, giving community members an opportunity to discover new sounds and support the local music scene.
Local Music Night takes place on Saturdays, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and live music from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Each show is free and open to all ages. The series kicks off on Saturday, March 1, with a performance by punk rock band Blightyear, featuring opener B.J. Hoffman.
Upcoming shows include:
- March 1 – Blightyear with opener B.J. Hoffman
- April 5 – A.M.D. with opener Dominik English of Ben’s Raincoat
- May 31 – Rev. Rattlesnake with opener Chris Seymer
The goal of Local Music Night is to build a vibrant music scene in Buckhannon by providing local musicians a venue to perform and develop their craft. The series offers something for everyone while fostering creativity and inspiring new artists to form bands and create original music.
“There’s an incredible amount of songwriting talent in Buckhannon, and Local Music Night is here to help bring it to the stage,” said Bryce O’Loughlin, the event organizer. “We’re thrilled to be part of growing the local music scene and creating a space for both fans and musicians to connect and share in the magic of live performance.”
