CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice recently announced that he has appointed Hannah Geffert to the 16th Senatorial District seat, vacated by the resignation of John Unger. The district covers all of Jefferson County and part of Berkeley County.

Geffert is a retired political science professor who taught at Shepherd University.

Geffert and her husband Garry reside near Martinsburg in Berkeley County.

WVU mobile lung cancer screening unit to visit Buckhannon, Bridgeport, Huntington and Cedar Grove in October

LUCAS will offer low-dose CT lung cancer screenings Oct. 20-24 in Huntington, Cedar Grove, Buckhannon and Bridgeport. Appointments must be made at least 14 days ahead, and eligible uninsured West Virginians may receive screenings through grant funding.
