The unforgettable harmonies behind “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Cathy’s Clown,” “Bye Bye Love” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream” will fill the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center when The Everly Brothers Experience featuring The Zmed Brothers comes to Clarksburg on Friday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Brothers Zachary and Dylan Zmed have spent the past decade bringing the music of Don and Phil Everly to audiences across the United States and overseas. Joined by drummer and musical partner Burleigh Drummond, the brothers celebrate the songs, harmonies and lasting musical legacy of one of the most influential acts in rock ’n’ roll history.
The Zmed Brothers do not approach the production as an impersonation. Instead, they honor the Everlys by recreating the distinctive close harmonies and musical spirit that helped transform popular music. The result is a heartfelt concert experience filled with classic songs, entertaining stories and the natural chemistry that can only come from two brothers singing together.
“The music of the ’50s and ’60s is nostalgic for us; our parents raised us all on it,” the brothers explain. “We are not impersonators. Our aim since we started the project is to do our best at honoring their brotherly legacy through our own spirits.”
The Everly Brothers helped shape the sound of rock ’n’ roll by blending country, folk and rhythm and blues with remarkably precise two-part harmonies. During a career spanning more than half a century, Don and Phil Everly recorded 21 studio albums, sold more than 60 million records worldwide and placed more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Their influence can be heard in the music of The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, the Bee Gees, Crosby, Stills & Nash and countless other artists who followed them.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney studied the Everlys’ harmonies as they developed their own sound, while Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel later credited Don and Phil as a major influence on their vocal partnership. Generations after the Everlys first appeared on the charts, their signature style remains one of the most recognizable sounds in popular music.
That legacy takes center stage in The Everly Brothers Experience.
Audiences at the Robinson Grand can expect a journey through the Everlys’ celebrated songbook, including “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Bird Dog,” “Devoted to You,” “Cathy’s Clown,” “When Will I Be Loved,” “Love Hurts,” “Walk Right Back,” “Crying in the Rain,” “Let It Be Me,” “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Bye Bye Love.” The production also explores the roots of early rock ’n’ roll through songs associated with other artists who helped shape the era.
For Zachary and Dylan Zmed, the music is closely connected to their own family history.
The brothers grew up in an entertainment-oriented household filled with the music of the 1950s and ’60s. Their father, Adrian Zmed, built a successful career as a singer, dancer and actor, with credits including “Grease 2,” “Bachelor Party” and “T.J. Hooker.” Their mother, Barbara, was an elementary school teacher.
Those influences come together in a show that is equal parts concert, musical history lesson and brother-to-brother celebration. Between songs, Zachary and Dylan share stories, humor and historical context that help audiences appreciate both the music and the extraordinary relationship behind it.
Since launching the project in 2016, The Zmed Brothers have performed at theaters, festivals and other venues throughout North America and overseas. Their performances introduce the Everlys’ music to younger listeners while giving longtime fans an opportunity to experience the songs live once again.

More than six decades after Don and Phil Everly helped define the sound of rock ’n’ roll harmony, their songs continue to resonate with audiences of every generation. Through their musicianship, storytelling and unmistakable sibling connection, The Zmed Brothers keep that legacy alive while making the music their own.
