BUCKHANNON — My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars, recognizing Buckhannon-Upshur athletes who delivered standout performances across football, soccer, cross country, volleyball and golf.
Each week, one male and one female athlete earn the honor based on their impact, consistency and contributions to their teams.
For the week of Sept. 14–20, the Hank Ellis All-Stars are Alivia Cogar and Alex Fisher.
Cogar, a senior on the Buckhannon-Upshur volleyball team, anchored the Lady Bucs’ defense throughout a 2-1 week that included wins over Elkins and Lincoln and a tight loss to Bridgeport. She led the team in digs in all three matches — posting 17 against Elkins, eight against Lincoln and 14 against Bridgeport — while adding four aces and six assists for the week.
Fisher, a junior on the Buccaneer golf team, delivered two top‑10 finishes to pace B-U in a pair of four‑team events. He shot a 42 to place eighth at Stonewall Resort, then followed with a 41 to finish sixth at Barbour Country Club.
