BUCKHANNON — A longtime local law enforcement personality will be retiring this week.

Cpl. Timothy A. Menendez will be retiring with the West Virginia State Police Friday, August 27. He has been with the West Virginia State Police for 21 years, during which he has been stationed at the Buckhannon Detachment. He has been a valued member, a true friend and a mentor.

Citizens of Upshur County have respected Cpl. Menendez throughout the years because he is the REAL DEAL and has treated everyone with respect and dignity no matter the circumstances involved. 

Cpl. Menendez will not be leaving Upshur County — he will be the new school resource office at B-UMS with Upshur County Sheriffs Dept.
