Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lady Bucs climbed to No. 4 in the Week 4 MetroNews softball coaches poll with 73 points, while Cabell Midland remains No. 1 with all 12 first-place votes.

West Virginia Wesleyan turned in a strong weekend at the MEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with the women placing third (93.5 points) and the men sixth (62.5).

Buckhannon-Upshur’s softball Lady Bucs kept cruising with two more wins, blasting Parkersburg 16-2 in five innings and blanking Elkins 9-0 in six. Braylea Squires powered the offense, while Kynnedy Marple and Charity Talbott delivered strong outings in the circle.

Buckhannon-Upshur closed the regular season on a six-game win streak, rolling past St. Albans and John Marshall 16-5 in back-to-back home games.
