Candy Donaldson receives employee honor at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital

WESTON, W.Va. – Candy Donaldson, of the Outpatient Department, has been selected as the Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital ICARE Employee of the Month for August 2022. She began her employment on June 3, 2001, on the Medical/Surgical Unit. This is the third time she has received the honor.

Candy’s nominator wrote, “Candy arrives early every morning to ensure the department is ready for the day. She is willing to stay until the last patient is discharged. She works tirelessly to ensure our patients receive the utmost care. Candy is constantly sharing information concerning fundraisers and contributing to events not only at the hospital but in the Weston and Lewis County community. She actively attends church and participates in their functions as well as inviting people to join her. Candy is an excellent and reliable employee. She is always willing to assist in any way needed and constantly with a smile on her face.”

“I have enjoyed working here so much. It is a very pleasant atmosphere, and my coworkers are always willing to help,” Candy said. “I love the outpatient department and I see so many people coming and going here. It is fulfilling to be able to help people.”

Candy and her late husband, Wayne Donaldson, have two children – Christopher, 38, and Deadra, 27. She has three grandchildren, Emma, Emily, and Raylan, and is expecting another granddaughter in November. 

Candy and her significant other, Lester Gay, enjoy family time, especially with their grandchildren. The couple enjoys camping, fishing, and listening to blue grass gospel.
