Clean up time: Make it Shine events set for two upcoming Saturdays, Aug. 13, Aug. 20

BUCKHANNON — The City of Buckhannon will host two Make it Shine events coming up in August.

According to a recent new release from the city, the Make it Shine events, which are held to encourage residents to clean up their yards and properties, are set for Saturday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Aug. 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Buckhannon Waste Transfer Station, located at 444 Mud Lick Road in Buckhannon.

Each residential waste customer is permitted to dump a maximum allowable amount equivalent to two pick-up truck loads. Residents must show proof that they are valid Waste Department customers and provide a form of identification.

Please note that customers may not take advantage of this free dumping opportunity if their names have been placed on the ‘shut-off’ list.

Tires will not be accepted at this time. Additionally, items that utilize Freon, such as air conditioners, dehumidifiers and refrigerators, must be tagged and a certified vendor must verify that the Freon has been removed.
