WVWC’s Hudson named MEC Softball Pitcher of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan senior pitcher Hannah Hudson was named Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week.
 
The Blackstone, Va., native pitched 27 innings in four games, including a complete-game shutout versus Mercyhurst on March 7 with seven strikeouts. She completed seven innings of work versus Concordia-St. Paul, only surrendering three hits and striking out four.
 
Hudson collected her second win of the week on Friday (March 11) when she punched out nine Indiana (Pa.) hitters and allowed one earned run in seven innings. Hudson totaled 28 strikeouts, five walks and four earned runs in games last week.
 
This season, Hudson is 4-1 overall with a 1.02 earned run average and 46 strikeouts.
 
The Lady Bobcats are slated to begin MEC play on Saturday (March 19) at home versus Fairmont State.
