WVU Board of Governors chooses top candidate for University presidency, name not announced as contract negotiations begin

The West Virginia University Board of Governors voted to approve a top candidate to serve as the University’s 27th president during a regular meeting Thursday (Feb. 20) at the Erickson Alumni Center.

“At a time when the higher education landscape is changing, we think that this person can best lead West Virginia University — the state’s flagship university — forward and serve as its 27th president,” said Rick Pill, BOG chair.

“We hope to make a public announcement informing our WVU community and the citizens of our state who our next president will be as soon as a contract is signed.”
