WV State Parks introduce FlingGolf at five locations

SOUTH CHARLESTON – West Virginia State Parks are set to introduce an exciting new activity: FlingGolf. FlingGolf is a blend of lacrosse and golf, offering a fresh and engaging experience for players of all levels.

WV DNR and WV State Parks are introducing FlingGolf at five state parks this year: Cacapon, Canaan, Pipestem, Stonewall, and Twin Falls. This project has been spearheaded by Jonathan Bellingham, West Virginia native and International FlingGolf Ambassador.

Beginning now, these parks are fully trained and equipped for FlingGolf, offering daily play throughout the golf season. Additionally, each park will host demo events and tournaments at different parks until October 5, showcasing this exciting sport.

Although two workshops have already occurred, dates for the next demo events are as follows:

  • August 3 – Twin Falls Resort State Park
  • September 15 – Pipestem Resort State Park
  • October 5 – Cacapon Resort State Park

“We are excited to continue to add fun activities for those visiting our parks,” said Brett McMillion, Director of the WV Division of Natural Resources (WV DNR). “I am thankful WV State Park golf courses will be adding this additional, and family-friendly activity that is easy to do, and integrates well with those playing traditional golf.”

Equipment rentals and lessons will be available at the state parks listed above for those eager to try FlingGolf. Visitors should visit or call the pro shop at the park in which they plan to play and can enjoy FlingGolf alongside other park activities, making their stay even more memorable. For more information on FlingGolf, visit FlingGolf.com.

Jonathan Bellingham shares, “West Virginia has everything it needs to become a premier FlingGolf destination.”

This initiative aligns with West Virginia State Park’s commitment to offering diverse recreational opportunities and attracting enthusiasts to the beautiful state parks.
