TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur wrestling Bucs won a 48-33 home decision over the Lewis County Minutemen in a dual outing Tuesday night.
The win lifted the Bucs’ dual record to 11-5 on the season.
The Bucs raced out to a 24-0 lead after Jeremy Jett (106 pounds) won by forfeit, Ian Cornett (113) won by pinfall over Levi Boram, Bri Howes (120) won by forfeit and Liam Garcia (126) earned a fall over Luke Boram.
Andrew McDowell (138) scored a pin over Trenton Bush to make it a 30-6 score and Nathan Cornett (150) picked up a pin over Brady Smith to put B-U ahead 36-12.
Lewis County earned pins at 157 and 165 pounds to close it to 36-24 but Buckhannon-Upshur’s Trevor Miller-Waycaster notched a forfeit at 175 pounds and Oscar Blonn earned a pin over Ethan Leavitt to secure the win making it 48-24.
Lewis County closed out the final score winning a decision at 215 and getting a pin at 285.
The Bucs will be back in action Jan. 28 at the Brooke Classic.
