West Virginia Wesleyan College will host a regional festival for WVMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday, January 24, according to a Facebook post by West Virginia Wesleyan Bands.
The event is open to solo instrumentalists, solo vocalists, small instrumental ensembles, small vocal ensembles and pianists. Students who receive a recommendation at their regional festival can audition for the State Solo and Ensemble festival.
Regional festivals are held before the state in-service conference.
There is no required repertoire list. Musicians should pick something appropriate for their instrument or voice.
The registration fee is $10 per piece performed. Teachers or sponsors should fill out one form for each piece performed. Each completed form equals one entry fee payment.
Payment must be made by check to West Virginia Wesleyan College Bands with the registration name in the memo. Checks should be mailed to Eliza Taylor, Director of Athletic Bands, 59 College Ave, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
The registration deadline is January 10. Payments must be mailed and postmarked by that date.
Students must be registered by a teacher or sponsor who is in good standing with WVMEA/NAfME, whether it is their band or choir director or private studies teacher. Students cannot be swapped out. The student name at the time of registration is the student who will perform.
Refunds cannot be made after the registration deadline.
