BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another fall season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars.
Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Aug. 17- Aug. 23 are Bella Nottingham and Mitchell Whitley.
Nottingham is a sophomore on the soccer team. She kept her team in the mix against Parkersburg in the Lady Buc season opener. In an onslaught from the Parkersburg attack, Nottingham made 24 saves as Buckhannon-Upshur earned a 1-1 tie.
Whitley is a sophomore on the cross-country team. At their season-opening run in the St. Mary’s Invitational. He was the top B-U runner with a time of 17:54.6, which was over a three-minute improvement from last year’s race.
Congratulations to Nottingham and Whitley as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
