Buckhannon, WV—West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Society of Physics has earned the designation of Notable Chapter for the 2018-2019 academic year by the American Institute of Physics.
“Your combined efforts supported the physics department, helped student development, and strengthened the community,” remarked Dr. Brad Conrad, national director.
The American Institute of Physics restricts chapters to colleges and universities that offer a strong physics program. With over 90,000 members and 575 chapters, the society enables students with opportunities to connect and contribute to the broader physics community.
Wesleyan currently has 55 physics majors. In addition to offering a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science in physics, Wesleyan also has 3-2 engineering program agreements with Marshall University, the University of Virginia, and West Virginia University.
