SALEM — The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat women’s basketball team delivered Saturday afternoon, rolling past Salem University, 71–43, at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. The Lady Bobcats controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 23–9 first-quarter advantage and never allowing Salem to get within single digits the rest of the way.

Wesleyan shot an efficient 50.9 percent from the field (29-of-57) and dominated the interior, scoring 54 points in the paint while outrebounding Salem 44–28. The Lady Bobcats also capitalized on second-chance opportunities with 15 points off offensive rebounds and turned Salem miscues into 16 points. Defensively, Wesleyan held Salem to 25.0 percent shooting overall and limited the Tigers to 19.0 percent from three-point range (4-of-21).

Four Lady Bobcats reached double figures, led by Kilah Dandridge, who finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in 33 minutes. Emma Witt added 14 points, eight rebounds, and a team-high seven assists, while Allie Daniels was perfect from the field (6-for-6) on her way to 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Sydney Baird rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, two steals, and a pair of blocks.

After taking a 35–16 lead into halftime, Wesleyan continued to control the tempo in the third quarter, outscoring Salem 19–11 to push the advantage to 54–27 entering the final period. The Lady Bobcats maintained their intensity down the stretch, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to close out the 28-point victory.

Salem was led by Nakayla Green, who scored 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including four three-pointers, but the Tigers struggled to generate consistent offense against Wesleyan’s disciplined defense.

With the win, Wesleyan improved to 4–2 overall and 2–1 in Mountain East Conference play, while Salem dropped to 1–7 on the season.

The Lady Bobcats will travel to West Liberty University on Wednesday, Dec. 17, for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
