Wesleyan track and field performs well at VertKlasse Meet; Sets 11 new personal records

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up the VertKlasse Meet at High Point University with 11 new personal bests on Satruday To go along with new personal records, the Bobcats had a top0five finish, four top-15 finishes and a new school record.

New School Record
Ny’Tierra Hobbs ran a 11.56 in the 100-meter dash, setting a new school record and sitting sixth in all of Division II.

Top Finishes
Hobbs’ 11.56 in the 100-meter dash placed her fourth in the event.

Leigha Hall set a personal record and finished eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line at 11:32.93.

Tanner Faulkiner was 13th in the 100-meter dash at 10.59.

Hobbs had a top finish in the 200-meter dash as well, placing 14th with a time of 24.62.

The women’s 4×100 relay finished 48.33 to get seventh

Other Notable Finishes
Aubrey Wiethe ran a new PR in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.56
Aaron Kupfner had personal bests in both the 400-meter hurdles (54.28) and the 110-meter hurdles (15.03).
Shannon Farrow also had multiple new PRs, setting one in the 100-meter dash at 12.43 and in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.30.
In the 5000-meter run, Anthony Sanders had new personal record with a time of 15:28.
Sterlin Thropp (22.50) and Charles Malone (23.05) both set new PRs in the 200-meter dash.
For the throwers, Oliver French set a new personal best in the Javelin with a throw of 57.33 meters.
