Wesleyan tennis teams sweep West Virginia State

BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan College women’s tennis team had not beaten conference foe West Virginia State University since 2009. That unpleasant record was broken in Buckhannon Friday when the Lady Bobcats topped the Yellow Jackets 6-1.

Also dominate on the day was the Bobcat men’s team who served a 7-0 decision on the Jackets.

Several three-set matches highlighted an intense day under gray skies. Final results below.

The Wesleyan women host D’Youville University Sunday, Mar. 24 for a match that starts at noon. Both the men and women travel to Mercyhurst University on Wednesday, Mar. 27 for matches that start at 11 a.m.
