Wesleyan sweeps weekly MEC softball honors

BRIDGEPORT  West Virginia Wesleyan has swept this week’s MEC softball honors as Andie Dizon has been named the Softball Player of the Week, while Kendall Stoffel was named the Pitcher of the Week.
 
The MEC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Dizon, a sophomore from Paso Robles, California, helped the Bobcats go 5-3 this past week with wins over Upper Iowa, Southeast Minnesota, Staten Island, Wayne State, and Bloomfield. She finished the week going 12-of-15 at the plate with four runs, nine RBIs, a pair of doubles, and a home run.
 
Stoffel, a junior from Saint Albans, West Virginia, helped the Lady Bobcats earn five wins this past week, earning four victories on the mound. She pitched 21 innings, recording 18 strikeouts, five walks, and only allowed three earned runs on the week.
