Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is pleased to announce that Melissa Hamrick has been awarded the Appreciation Pin, a national Girl Scouts volunteer award recognizing exceptional service in support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) within a designated geographic area.

The Appreciation Pin is given to adult volunteers who have demonstrated significant impact in areas such as membership growth, community visibility and volunteer support, while exemplifying the inclusive values of the Girl Scout movement.

For years, Hamrick has been the cornerstone of Girl Scouts in her local community, playing a pivotal role not only as a troop leader but also as a dedicated Service Unit leader.

She has worked tirelessly to bring Girl Scout programs to life by engaging local community members to contribute to camp events and activities, ensuring that every girl has a chance to experience the magic of Girl Scouts.

Hamrick’s commitment extends to recruitment efforts, where she is a consistent presence at schools and recruitment events, personally inviting new members to join the movement. Her hands-on approach and passion for the Girl Scout mission have made her an indispensable volunteer in her community.

“Melissa Hamrick’s leadership and dedication are truly inspiring,” said Beth Casey, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. “She brings the heart of Girl Scouts to her community and helps make these experiences possible for so many girls. We are incredibly grateful for her continued service.”

Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council congratulates Melissa Hamrick on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her tireless work in empowering girls and building lasting connections within her community.
