Two people killed in wreck Thursday

Two men died Thursday night when their vehicle wrecked and flipped several times on Route 20, just south of the Route 119 intersection, according to a press release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.

Candelario Gabriel Ledezma, 24, was driving south on Route 20 at 7:45 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, which went sideways and left the roadway, traveling through a fence and flipping several times.

Both Ledezma and passenger William Dakota Wolfe, 24, were ejected.

Ledezma was pronounced dead at the scene, while Wolfe was treated and transported to Hodgesville Elementary to be life flighted. However, he went into full cardiac arrest and the ambulance was diverted to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where Wolfe was pronounced dead.

Speed was a factor, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing.
