Three West Virginia Wesleyan College students earned spots in an elite academic honor society recognizing excellence in communications.
The college’s Beta Beta chapter of Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society inducted the students Oct. 30:
- Nora Carroll ’27, from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Mason Halfin ’27, from Moatsville, West Virginia
- Haley Lane ’26, from Buckhannon, West Virginia
To qualify for Lambda Pi Eta, students must complete at least 60 undergraduate semester hours, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, finish 12 semester hours in Communication courses, achieve a 3.25 GPA in Communication courses and rank in the upper 35% of their graduating class.
Lambda Pi Eta is the Communication Department’s honor society, promoting interest in the communication field. The organization was founded by University of Arkansas communication students and formally endorsed by faculty founder Dr. Stephen A. Smith in 1985.
“Each year, we look forward to celebrating the wonderful students who qualify for the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society,” said Dr. Nancy Bressler, faculty advisor. “Our students are what makes our Communication Department fantastic, and I cannot wait to see what accomplishments they achieve next.”
