My Buckhannon is proud to present another spring of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball and softball diamonds, lacrosse fields, the track, and tennis courts.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of March 30 – April 5 are Angelina Winter and Jaxon Spratt.
Winter is a junior on the Lady Buc tennis team. In a 4-3 win over Philip Barbour, she was a perfect 2-0 in helping B-U to their first win of the season. Playing at No. 3 singles, she won a hard-fought match with an 8-6 score and then, along with partner Madison Cutright at No. 2 doubles, they won an 8-6 match.
Spratt is a junior on the Buccaneer baseball team. In a 13-1 win over Lewis County, he hit two home runs, drove in six runs, and scored twice in a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate. A day earlier against Lincoln, he went 1-for-2 at the plate and had three RBIs.
