Deadline approaching to register for Buckhannon Citizens Police Academy & Community Emergency Response Team training courses

The Buckhannon Police Department and the Upshur County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management have announced the return of the Citizen Police Academy and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) courses. Both courses are open to the public with registration accepted until February 16, 2025.

The Citizen Police Academy begins on February 18, and the CERT course starts on April 1. Enrollment in one course does not require participation in the other.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours. All classes take place at the Buckhannon Police Department’s Community Training Room, located at 24 South Florida Street. Attendees should use the main entrance.

Advanced registration is required for both classes, as class sizes are limited.
